Mackintosh Martin Garden Design

I see Garden Design as an extension to my artistic practice; it is a place where I can translate line, composition and layers of colour into a three dimensional space. Good garden design takes place when a harmony between form and function is met. 

A garden that excites, relaxes and invites its inhabitants to continually engage with it is my ambition. Gardens should be a sanctuary, a space of contemplation, much like art. The lovely thing about creating gardens is that they are artwork that continues to develop and shift over time.

I create gardens with my husband, Ru Martin, a knowledgeable horticulturist.
